New Eve album set for
March 2011
After delays, Eve's new album "Lip Lock" is set for a March 11 release date.
According to Eve,
the album features Akon, Swizz Beatz, and Chiddy Bang, among others. Eve has
also hinted that a possible Ruff Ryders reunion.
R.E.M. name new album Collapse Into Now
R.E.M. has confirmed that their 15th studio album will be titled "Collapse Into
Now" and is expected for next spring. The new effort will be produced by
Jacknife Lee.
Red Hot Chili Peppers working on new album
Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith has said that the band are finishing
their new album. The as-yet untitled album will be the follow-up to “Stadium
Arcadium” (2006) and is being produced by Rick Rubin. The band have recorded
about 20 songs already, with a few more left to do.According to Smith added, the
band is aiming for a release date in spring next year.
Huey Lewis records soulful cover album
Huey Lewis Huey Lewis & the News is back with "Soulsville," which is an album of
soul covers from the Stax Records catalog. The set is due November 2 and
includes the Staple Singers' "Respect Yourself," Johnnie Taylor's "Just the One
(I've Been Looking For)" and the title track by Isaac Hayes. “Soulsville” will
be the first News album since 2001.
New Beastie Boys album set for next spring
The Beastie Boys have revealed that they will release a new album in spring
2011. They will release “Hot Sauce Committee Part 2,” before “Hot Sauce
Committee Part 1,” which was due out in September. The latter will continue to
be delayed indefinitely. “Hot Sauce Committee Part 1” was originally scheduled
to be released last year, but was delayed when Adam Yauch was diagnosed with
cancer.
Ke$ha to release Cannibal album
Ke$ha will release a "partner album" "Cannibal" as a sequel to her
multi-platinum CD "Animal." The effort is due November 22 and will contain eight
new songs and will be sold as a stand-alone, as well as part of a deluxe
re-issue of "Animal." First single off the album "We R Who We R" is out now.
Jay-Z greatest hits album
Jay-Z is set to release a greatest hist album on November 23 titled “The Hits
Collection Volume 1.” The effort will be released on CD and vinyl, and a deluxe
edition and collector's edition box set, which includes an additional CD of
music, plus a 32-page booklet and a 100-page book, will be available too. |
