Madonna releases
Confessions tour on CD/DVD set
Madonna’s Wembley Arena concerts of her Confessions tour will be released as
part of a CD/DVD set on January 30. "The Confessions Tour" includes a 13-track
CD as well as the complete London concert on the DVD. The track list comprises
largely on Madonna's "Confessions On A Dance Floor" album but also features some
old tracks as "Like a Virgin," "Erotica," "Lucky Star" and "La Isla Bonita."
Prince rumored to launch own music magazine
Prince is rumored to be in talks with a Las Vegas based publisher about starting
his own music magazine called 3121 Magazine. Meanwhile, Prince has also begun a
residency at the 3121 club in the Rio All-Suite Hotel And Casino in Las Vegas.
Timbaland focusing on own album
After producing for various other artists, producer Timbaland is now focusing on
his own album. The as-yet-untitled effort is expected to be released in March
and the first single off the album will be "Give It To Me," which also features
Nelly Furtado. An associate of Timbaland announced that the album will feature
sounds from hip-hop and pop as well as rock. The album is rumored to include
guest appearances by Bjork, Jay-Z, Missy Elliott and 50 Cent and others.
Bjork, Sarah McLachlan and Prince to appear on Joni
Mitchell tribute album
Bjork, Sarah McLachlan and Prince are all set to appear on a tribute album to
legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. The tribute album will comprise of
diverse musical genres and each of the 12 contributing artists have recorded a
personal rendition of some of her songs. Amongst the other artists to appear are
Annie Lennox, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, K.D. Lang and James Taylor. "A
Tribute To Joni Mitchell" is due for release through in the Spring.
New U2 sound either no rock 'n' roll or much harder
While finishing on their Vertigo tour, U2 is already planning for a next album.
Frontman Bono has said that he wants to take the band to the next level which
may mean a move away from rock 'n' roll or that the rock has to get a lot
harder. He also revealed that he would like U2 to explore songs featuring just
voice and acoustic guitar. U2 is expected to go to work in the studio soon and
to release a new album before the end of 2007.
Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am at work on new Michael
Jackson album
Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am is working on Michael Jackson's comeback album, which
is tentatively scheduled for release before the end of the year. Will.i.am has
said that he has been doing a lot of brainstorming with Jackson already. As
reported earlier, Akon is also rumored to be collaborating on the album as well
as Chris Brown. |
