Album details new
Madonna album Hard Candy
Madonna has announced more details of her next studio album. The singer will
release her 11th album “Hard Candy” on April 28. Lead single will be “4 Minutes”
and is out digitally March 26 and physically on April 21. Guests on the album
include Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams and Nate ‘Danja’ Hills.
New Carly Simon album out on Starbucks label
Carly Simon has joined James Taylor, Paul McCartney and Joni Mitchell on the
roster of Starbucks' Hear Music label. Her first album for the company is "This
Kind of Love," which will be released April 29. The 13-track set has a
Brazilian-heavy sound, and features collaborations Jimmy Webb and Frank
Filipetti. Among the musicians are guitarists Peter Calo and David Saw and
percussionist Cyro Baptista.
Yazoo reunite for US tour and release box set
Yazoo, known as Yaz in the US, have announced that they will reunite for the
first time in 25 years for a US summer tour. The electronica duo comprises of
Vince Clarke of Erasure and singer Alison Moyet and they will play some dates in
major American cities on their Reconnected Tour in July. The band are also
preparing to release a four-disc box set in May that includes remastered
editions of the band's two albums “Upstairs At Eric's” and “You And Me Both.”
The set also includes a DVD as well as video clips. Also a limited-edition 12"
vinyl will be released with new dance mixes.
Spice Girl Mel C to release new album
The Spice Girls’ Melanie C is resuming her solo career with her fourth album,
titled "This Time." The album will be out on April 8. Melanie C’s solo debut
"Northern Star" (1999) sold about 3 million units worldwide. Two subsequent
albums did considerably worse and were not even released in the US. According to
the singer "This Time" features "mature pop" and the first single off the new
effort will be the upbeat pop track "Carolyna."
New Mint Condition album due in May
Mint Condition has returned with their ninth album "e-Life," which is due May 6.
The set is Mint Condition's first release since 2005's "Living the Luxury
Brown." The new effort includes collaborations with Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Phonte
from Lil Brother and Anthony Hamilton, who features on the first single "Baby
Boy, Baby Girl." The band is also planning to do a spring US tour and some
visits to Europe and Japan.
Killing Joke reform for tour and new album
Killing Joke have reformed and recently have revealed that they will record new
material and do a tour. The four original members, Jaz Coleman, Kevin ‘Geordie’
Walker, Martin Ferguson, Martin ‘Youth’ Glover, have reunited for the first time
since the early ‘80s and ser planning to so a short world tour later this year.
Besides touring, the are also planning to release a new album this summer.
Steve Winwood back with new album
Steve Winwood has signed a new recording deal with Columbia Records. A new album
titled "Nine Lives" will be out April 29. Eric Clapton, who played briefly with
Winwood in the late 1960s, contributes guitar on first single "Dirty City." The
new nine-track set is Winwood's first studio album since 2003's "About Time."
This summer, Winwood will also be touring the US as support act for Tom Petty
And The Heartbreakers.
New Donna Summer album set for May
Donna Summer will return to the music scene with a new album after 17 years. The
new material will be released on May 20. Summer is working with a wide range of
collaborators, including Danielle Brisebois, Greg Kurstin, JR Rotem, Lester
Mendez and Evan Bogart. Summer's last album of completely new material was
1991's "Mistaken Identity." Since then, she only released holiday and live
albums, as well as 1996's "I'm A Rainbow," featuring tracks that were originally
recorded in 1981.
Primal Scream work with Arctic Monkeys and Klaxons
producer
Primal Scream have announced a number of collaborators for their as-yet-untitled
studio new album. The new album, which is due later this year, will feature
production work by James Ford, who also produced Arctic Monkeys and Klaxons'
recent albums. Others to appear on the new effort are Youth and Paul Epworth and
Mark Ronson is also rumored to be working on the new Primal Scream album. |
