New Ciara album Basic
Instincts set for October release
After Ciara's 2009 album "Fantasy Ride" failed to meet expectations, Ciara’s new
album "Basic Instincts," her fourth studio album, is due out on October 5. The
new effort is lead by the single "Ride." The single was produced by Christopher
"Tricky" Stewart and written by the-Dream and together they oversaw production
of entire album.
New Michael Jackson album set for November
A new Michael Jackson album featuring previously-unreleased songs is set for a
November release. The as-yet-untitled posthumous album will feature 10 songs
from sessions recorded during the 80’s right up to his recording sessions with
Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am in 2006. Producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins
has announced that he will be working on the project. Before his death on June
25, 2009, Jackson left hard drives filled with unheard music and Jackson's
manager Frank DiLeo has claimed that the singer's vaults contains more than 100
completed and unreleased songs, including collaborations with Akon and Ne-Yo.
Neil Young releasing old material
Neil Young will unveil four lost albums that date back to the 1970’s as part of
his "Archives Volume 2" series. The upcoming release of "Homegrown," "Oceanside-Country,"
"Chrome Dreams" and "Odeon-Budokan Live," the latter of which is a live concert
recorded with Crazy Horse in England and Japan in 1976. The albums will
initially be released on vinyl.
Kings Of Leon to release new album in October
According to Kings Of Leon's record label, the follow-up to their album “Only By
The Night” from 2008 is due out on October 19. It will be the band’s fifth
effort and is said to have a "chilled out" and"beach-y" feel to it. Kings Of
Leon will tour the US in August and September.
New Brian Eno in the works
Brian Eno will release a new album later this year. There is no confirmation on
any date or album name yet. The new effort will be Eno’s first solo album since
“Another Day On Earth” from 2005 and his first album since his collaboration
with David Byrne on “Everything That Happens Will Happen Today.” |
