Paula Abdul to make
music comeback
After an appearance on Randy Jackson's new album, Paula Abdul is getting started
on her first new album since 1995's "Head Over Heels." The as-yet-untitled album
will include remixes of Abdul's best-known hits, as well as three new songs. In
addition, Paul Oakenfold and Akon are preparing remixes of "Dance Like There's
No Tomorrow," her contribution to Jackson's album. Abdul’s new single "Dance
Like There's No Tomorrow" was produced by Randy Jackson and Danish duo Deekay.
The new effort is planned to be released before Christmas.
The Vines to release Best Of album
The Vines are set to release their first Best Of album. The album is set for a
May 5 release date and compiles tracks from their career so far. Up to now The
Vines have released three albums, “Highly Evolved,” “Winning Days” and “Vision
Valley” and have had a few line-up changes. The group completed their fourth
album last week with producer Rob Schnapf. The new effort is set for release
this summer.
New Whitesnake album to coincide with 30 year
anniversary
After a recording silence of more than ten years, Whitesnake is set to make
their comeback with "Good To Be Bad," which is due out April 22. According to
frontman David Coverdale the album is “a heady cocktail that embraces the whole
history of Whitesnake within one album.” Joining Coverdale on "Good To Be Bad"
are several longtime Whitesnake touring members, such as guitarists Doug Aldrich
and Reb Beach Winger, bassist Uriah Duffy, keyboardist Timothy Drury and drummer
Chris Frazier. While planning a US tour, Whitesnake are to launch a European
co-headlining tour with Def Leppard. Whitesnake is also preparing to release a
remastered three-disc set to mark Whitesnake's 30th anniversary as well as a
live DVD.
Metallica plan new album for September release
Metallica have announced that the follow up to their “St Anger” album from 2003
will be released in September. The band have been recording the as-yet-untitled
set with producer Rick Rubin. The band are also expected to tour this summer.
New Whitney Houston album on track
Whitney Houston's first album of original material since 2002 is still on track
for release this year. Meanwhile, four songs have been completed for the
as-yet-untitled album and four more will be recorded later this month. According
to Clive Davis, the album will not fit into today's hip-hop market but comprise
of 'real' Whitney material. Tracks for the album have been produced and written
by will.i.am, Sean Garrett and Akon.
New Ice Cube album titled Raw Footage
Ice Cube is finishing work on his new album "Raw Footage." "Raw Footage" is Ice
Cube's 9th solo album and includes guest appearances by Musiq, Nas and Scarface.
Ice Cube collaborated with producers Maestro, Fred Wrek, Teak "Da Beatsmith"
Underdue and Dee Underdue. |
