New Diana Ross album
set for January
Diana Ross' new studio album "I Love You" will be released on January 16 in the
US. The 15-track album is already available abroad; but in the US will also be
sold in a CD/DVD edition featuring behind-the-scenes studio footage and a photo
gallery. La Ross worked on het first new effort in over seven years with
producers Marylata E. Jacob, Peter Asher and Steve Tyrell. The album’s track
list includes the Marvin Gaye-hit "I Want You", the Bacharach/David classic "The
Look Of Love," the Beatles' "I Will" and Bill Withers' "Lovely Day." Only one
new song will be featured on the new album: "I Love You (That's All That Really
Matters)."
Lupe Fiasco aiming for collaboration with Pink Floyd
for next album
Having worked with Jay-Z, Kanye West and Jill Scott, rapper Lupe Fiasco is
aiming for a a collaboration with Pink Floyd for his next album. Fiasco has aid
that his next album will be titled "The Cool" and will only feature production
from new collaborators, such as Soundtrakk and Prolyfic. His previous album "Food
& Liquor" got him three Grammy nominations, including best rap song for "Kick,
Push."
New Mandy Moore album out in April
After a break from music that found her concentrating on acting, Mandy Moore is
back with a new album, which is tentatively titled “Wild Hope.” The new effort
is set for an April release date and will be the first on which she either wrote
or co-wrote every song. The singer began writing material for the new album more
than two years ago and after that recorded the new material at Allaire Studios
in Shokan, New York with producer John Alagia. In addition to the album, Mandy
Moore has four films on the way:
Nine Inch Nails to release DVD while finishing work on
new album
Nine Inch Nails will release the tour in support of their album "With Teeth"
with the DVD "Beside You In Time." The DVD is due on February 27 and features 19
songs. Bonus features include five songs, "Somewhat Damaged," "Closer," "Help Me
I Am in Hell," "Non-Entity" and "Only", music videos for "The Hand That Feeds"
and "Only," and 2005 rehearsal footage of a few songs. Meanwhile, Nine Inch
Nails is also putting the finishing touches to their next studio album and will
begin mixing the new effort in January. No release date has yet been set for the
album.
Usher back in the studio working on new material
Usher is back in the studio and expects to have a new single and album out
half-way next year. Usher is collaborating with Robin Thicke for his upcoming
new effort, who he admires not only for his latest hit album, but also for his
producing and writing skills. Jermaine Dupri and the production teams of Dre and
Vidal and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are also scheduled to collaborate on the
album, as well as Jay-Z. Other Usher projects include opening up some
restaurants around the country, developing a fragrance and promoting his R&B
group One Chance.
New Sevendust album set for March
Sevendust is releasing an new album on March 6 titled "Alpha." The band will
release the set through their own label 7 Bros. Records, which recently entered
into a partnership with the Warner Music Group. The new effort was produced by
Joe Miller, John Connolly, Morgan Rose and Shawn Grove. The band will also do a
57-date promotional tour in support of the album beginning February 8.
Def Leppard preparing new album for next summer
Def Leppard will start working on their next studio album in January in Dublin.
The band have about five or six songs still to be finished and about 11 to 12 in
a final version. The band is planning to release the new effort next summer. The
album is the follow-up to the cover album "Yeah!," which featured Def Leppard
versions of songs by Thin Lizzy, the Faces and Mott The Hoople. |
