The Who working on new
album
The Who has begun work on their new studio album. According to Pete Townshend,
the band is considering working with producer T-Bone Burnett. This year the band
is planning for some live shows in Japan in the fall, to coincide with the
release there of the Who-documentary "Amazing Journey."
Eric Burdon and WAR reunite for live show
Eric Burdon and WAR will be performing together for the first time in 37 years.
The reunion will be at London's historic Royal Albert Hall on April 21 for one
night only. The announcement precedes the reissue of Eric Burdon and WAR's
classic albums. Eric Burdon and WAR was one of the first multi-racial bands. The
Eric Burdon and WAR lineup for the reunion show will be comprised of Burdon and
keyboardist Lonnie Jordan, as well as Start Ziff (guitar), Francisco "Pancho"
Tomaselli (bass), Fernando Harkless (saxophone), Mitch Kashmar (harmonica),
Marcos Reyes (percussion) and Salvador Rodriguez (drums).
The Beach Boys’s Dennis Wilson solo album reissued
The Beach Boys’ Dennis Wilson’s classic album “Pacific Ocean Blue” will be
reissued. The album was originally released in 1977 and is now regarded as a
classic. The new 2CD Legacy Edition version, will be out on May 19 and features
the original album plus a new bonus track that was never released before. The
second disc of the set features over bonus tracks from the “Pacific Ocean Blue”
sessions and its unreleased follow-up “Bambu.” Dennis Wilson was drummer in The
Beach Boys and drowned in 1983 in his native California, aged 39.

Timbaland creates first mobile album ever
Timbaland has struck a deal with Verizon Wireless to make the first "mobile
album," which will be exclusively available to subscribers of V Cast, Verizon's
mobile entertainment service. In this deal Timbaland will produce one song per
month throughout 2008. Each month, he will work with a different artist on a
track while touring the country on the Verizon Mobile Recording Studio Bus. Each
mobile Timbaland-track will be released days after it is produced and songs will
be released as a full-length download, ringtone and ringback. |
