Extra disc with US release of new Charlatans album
The Charlatans will release their new album “You Cross My Path” in the US on
June 10. The album will feature a bonus disc with extras. Released for free
earlier this year, the album was downloaded over 90,000. Recorded in the UK,
Ireland and Los Angeles, the special double-disc edition includes bonus live
tracks and videos and is preceded by the single “Oh! Vanity.” Meanwhile,
Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess is working with actor Joaquin Phoenix to record
an album. The idea for the album came about when Phoenix learned to play guitar
in preparation for his role as Johnny Cash in the 2005 film "Walk The Line."

and July 7 in Europe. First single off the album will be "Council Estate" and is

Rod Stewart planning R&B and country albums
Rod Stewart is planning to move on from his Songbook albums and go back to
recording R&B and country. A lot of Stewart’s early recordings were based on
both R&B and country music. On 1971's “Every Picture Tells A Story” Rod Stewart
covered The Temptations “I Know I'm Losing You” and later on worked with the
Isley Brothers on a remake of “This Old Heart of Mine.”
New Ne-Yo album pushed back
Originally due in June, Ne-Yo's new album "Year Of The Gentleman" has been
pushed back to August 5. The delay is caused by the fact that the artist is
completing additional songs for the album. The album features production by
Stargate, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and J.R. Rotem, among others. Lead single
"Closer" is climbing the charts already. Meanwhile, Ne-Yo is on Alicia Keys'
tour as a support act. |
