Kanye West to release
new album Graduation in September
Kanye West is planning for a September release date for his next album "Graduation."
The new effort will feature Coldplay's Chris Martin on the song "Graduation" as
well as track "Can't Tell Me Nothing." The latter cut was created with help of
DJ Toomp. Kanye West has also said that he is working with
producer/multi-instrumentalist Jon Brion again, who also played a key role on
his previous album "Late Registration."
Matchbox Twenty to release Best Of
Matchbox Twenty will be releasing a compilation album in October. Band members
are currently working on the track selection for the album. Matchbox Twenty
released their first single “Long Day” in 1996 and broke across North America
and Australia one year later. In total, Matchbox Twenty has released three
albums. For their Best of album, the band will have 15 singles to compile from
with possibly some new music added to the record too.
ZZ Top eager to return to the studio
ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill has said that the band is eager to record a new album.
According to Hill, there are plenty of ideas, but no finished songs and
timeframe for their release. ZZ Top has about 50 different titles and 50
different song ideas. There is also talk of a concert DVD, which would be their
first.
New Buffalo Tom album set for July 9 release date
Buffalo Tom are set to release their seventh studio album “Three Easy Pieces” on
July 9.
The album will be preceded by the single “Bad Phone Call” on June 25. The band
have also announced a live show at the Scala in London, UK on July 11.
New dance CD’s by Paul van Dyk and Basement Jaxx
German DJ/producer Paul van Dyk is putting the finishing touches on his new
studio album "In Between." His new effort is due August 14 and rumors are that
the album may feature collaborations with Talking Heads' David Byrne and a
member of the Pussycat Dolls. Meanwhile, British duo Basement Jaxx recently
spent time in the studio recording tracks for a new album. Their new effort will
feature guest appearances from Yoko Ono, Lil' Louis and Kudu, among others.
Whitney Houston working on comeback album
Akon has revealed that some "great songs" will feature on Whitney Houston’s
comeback, album, for which he will write and produce material. Whitney Houston
has not released any new material since 2003's "One Wish: The Holiday Album" and
any new songs since 2002’s "Just Whitney." The singer has been haunted by drug
and health issues lately. No release date has been set for Whitney Houston's new
album, but she is currently working with other producers and songwriters,
including Ne-Yo. |
