Scarlett Johansson
planning next album
Actress Scarlett Johansson released an album this year. Apparently she is not
done with the music business just yet, because she is planning a follow-up. Back
in the spring, Johansson released a Tom Waits cover album titled “Anywhere I Lay
My Head” and recently said that for her next effort she would like to record
some original material. However, any new album will have to wait, since she
already has a busy schedule for the upcoming year.
The Fray new album tracklist
The Fray have revealed the track listing for their next self-titled album. The
new effort is et for a February 3 release date and is preceded by lead single "You
Found Me" which is out already and has sold 278,000 copies in three weeks. "The
Fray" is said to be “a little more extreme than the last record." The new album
will be previewed during some club dates early next year, beginning Jan. 6 in
the Fray's Denver hometown. Album tracks will include "Syndicate," "Absolute," "You
Found Me," "Say When," "Never Say Never," "Where the Story Ends." "Enough for
Now," "Ungodly Hour," "We Build Then We Break" and "Happiness."
Sex Pistols possibly recording new album in 2009
Sex Pistols' bassist Glen Matlock has said that the band are considering to
record a new album. According to Matlock, that rumors about recording new
material in the summer were false, but that there is a possibility the punk band
could be recording in 2009.
New Eminem album planned for next spring
Eminem has revealed details of his new album "Relapse." The new album is due
next spring. Eminem is working on "Relapse" with longtime collaborator Dr. Dre,
who delayed his own album "Detox" to help bring the Eminem project to completion.
Some songs intended for "Relapse" have leaked online already.
Bon Jovi best earning tour of 2008
Bon Jovi's Lost Highway tour was the biggest selling tour in 2008. The tour
grossed $210.6 million and drew 2,157,675 fans. Second is Bruce Springsteen &
the E Street Band's Magic tour, which grossed $204.5 million. Rounding out the
top 10 are Madonna ($162 million for the Sticky & Sweet tour), the Police ($150
million on the second leg of their reunion tour), Celine Dion ($91 million),
Kenny Chesney ($86 million), Neil Diamond ($81.2 million), Spice Girls ($70
million), Eagles ($56.6 million) and Rascal Flatts ($55.8 million).
Morrissey reveals new album
Morrissey has done a playback session for his new album "Years Of Refusal,”
which is set for a February 16 release date in Europe. No US release date has
been set yet. Some of the songs on the 12-track album suggest a more
rock-oriented effort, but some acoustic, and melodic songs are included too.
First single off the album will be "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris.” That
will be released on February 9.
John Fogerty returns with new album and DVD
Former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty is finishing work on
his new album "John Fogerty: The Return of the Blue Ridge Rangers." The new
effort is a sequel to his 1973 album of vintage country and roots covers "Blue
Ridge Rangers." Fogerty is also releaseing "John Fogerty - Comin' Down the Road,"
a DVD chronicling his first concert at London's Royal Albert Hall that took
place earlier this year, as well as a documentary about his life and career.
Fogerty recorded "The Return of the Blue Ridge Rangers" during a 10-day session
with T-Bone Burnett and Lenny Waronker co-producing. Among the players were
Buddy Miller, Greg Leisz, Dennis Crouch, Jay Bellerose and Kenny Aronoff.
Monica working on new album
Monica is working on her as-yet-untitled next album. The singer has said that
her sixth album could be named "Lesson Learned" or "Still Standing" and will be
out in the first quarter of 2009. One track already completed is "Trust," which
is a duet with Keyshia Cole. Monica has also collaborated with producers like
Stargate and Bryan Michael-Cox and is planning to working with Missy Elliott. |
