New Coldplay album
titled Viva la Vida
Coldplay's upcoming new album "Viva la Vida" will be out on June 17 in the US
and one day before in Europe. "Viva la Vida" was produced by Coldplay, Brian Eno
and Markus Dravs. The album is said to feature “some really great songwriting."
New ZZ Top album in the works
With a live DVD and a new album coming up, ZZ Top is back. The band is currently
in the studio, preparing a new series of recording sessions of new material. The
band hopes to finish the album before the summer. Meanwhile, ZZ Top is planning
to release a concert DVD taped on November 1, 2007 at the Nokia Theater in Grand
Prairie, Texas.
Weezer finish new album
Weezer have finished work on their new album, which is set for a June release
date. Frontman Rivers Cuomo has described the album as "meaty, crunchy and
melodic." According to Cuomo only one song must still be mixed and then the band
will enter the mastering stage. The album’s first single is expected to be
released to radio soon.
New Ashlee Simpson album Bittersweet World set for
April
Ashlee Simpson will release her new album "Bittersweet World" on April 22. Her
new effort features production by Timbaland and the Neptunes' Chad Hugo. First
official single off the album is "Little Miss Obsessive," on which Plain White
T's Tom Higginson will be doing a guest performance. Album track "Out of My Head
(Ay Ya Ya)" failed to chart but has sold 117,000 digital downloads in the US
nevertheless.
DMX te release new hip hop album; gospel album delayed
DMX's gospel album “And You'll Fly With Me Later” will be released a little
later than his upcoming regular hip-hop album “Walk With Me Now,” which is
tentatively set for an August release date. Guest artists on “Walk With Me Now”
include Nas, T-Pain and Seal, while the Neptunes and Swizz Beatz are amongst the
producers.
Rihanna re-releases Good Girl Gone Bad with new track
Rihanna will release a new version of her hit album "Good Girl Gone Bad," on May
27. The new version of the album will feature a new track titled "Take A Bow."
The track was written by Ne-Yo and produced by Stargate and was made available
online this week. "Good Girl Gone Bad" to date, the album has sold 1.1 million
copies in the US only.
New Usher album Here I Stand set for June
Usher's next album “Here I Stand” is due in June. Dre & Vidal worked with Usher
on 15 tracks last year. Polow Da Don, who produced the album's first single "Love
In This Club" worked on two other tracks as well. The album is not finished yet,
so the final track list has not been announced yet.
Tears For Fears' Curt Smith to release solo album
Tears For Fears’ Curt Smith will release a solo album "Halfway, Pleased" in May.
He has released music under the Mayfield moniker, a collaboration with guitarist
Charlton Pettus, but this will be his first solo effort under his own name. "Halfway,
Pleased" follows Tears For Fears’ 2004 reunion album "Everybody Loves A Happy
Ending." Smith's album will be self-released through his own label and is said
not to be a "happy" record and has a “light, poppy edge to it.”
Keane start work on new album
Keane are currently recording their new album in Berlin with Madonna
producer Stuart Price. The group say the are attempting to create a “tasteless
and uncool” album as this can make their music better. The group are also taking
some unusual influences for their new songs, one of the new songs sounding like
music from the “Labyrinth” soundtrack.
Missy Elliott album mix of eclectic beats and '70s
go-go funk
An eight-song preview of Missy Elliott's upcoming new album has shown a mix of
eclectic beats and '70s go-go funk. The new effort will feature production by
Timbaland, Souldiggaz, Danjahandz, Timbaland and Point Guard. The album is due
in May and must yet be titled by fans. First single off the set is "Best, Best."
The full track list will contain ten to eleven songs.
James new album details
James have announced details of new album “Hey Ma,” which is the band’s 10th
album to date. The new effort is released on April 7. The cover art has already
caused controversy, as it features an image of a baby reaching to pick up a
handgun.. |
