New Pink album titled
Funhouse
Pink has named her new album "Funhouse." Her new effort will be released on
October 28. First single "So What" is already climbing the charts. The album is
expected to enter the US album chart next week due to sales of its digital
version that is out now. Guests on the album include Butch Walker, Max Martin,
Billy Mann and EG White.
Bloc Party release mp3 version of new album this week
Bloc Party have released their new album on August 21. The band announced the
release during a webchat on August 18. The album will be titled “Intimacy” and
is the band's third album. It is available on CD as well as mp3 from
http://blocparty.sandbag.uk.com.
Fans can choose whether to pay either about $10 for a high-quality mp3 bundle
available on August 21, $16 for a CD available on October 27 or $20 for a
combined order. The CD release of the new Bloc Party effort will include
additional tracks unavailable in the current release.
Wilco planning spring 2009 release date for new album
Wilco is eyeing a spring 2009 release date for their new album. According to
frontman Jeff Tweedy it will be a less performance-oriented recording this time
around. Wilco will be sculpting the sound more in the studio and doing overdubs
and using the studio as another instrument. Recently Wilco has played two new
songs live, being "One Wing" and "Sunny Feeling."
Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy album release rumors
The leakage of nine tracks from Guns N' Roses' long-delayed "Chinese Democracy"
album in June has ignited new rumors around the release of the long awaited
album. It seems that negotiations are underway for "Chinese Democracy" to be
released as an exclusive at either Wal-Mart or Best Buy. Negotiations are also
ongoing to have conventional record company distribution. Guns N' Roses is
managed by Front Line Management who are well-known for issuing albums
exclusively through retailers.
New Tina Turner songs and live versions on Tina Turner
compilation
Two new songs will feature on another upcoming Tina Turner compilation that is
due for release in September. The tracks "It Would Be A Crime" and "I'm Ready"
will appear on "Tina!" which is due September 30. Another 16 career spanning
hits are included, among live versions of "Let's Stay Together” (Amsterdam,
1996) and "The Best” (London, 2000). The digital version of "Tina!" will include
different versions of "River Deep Mountain High" and "The Acid Queen" than the
physical CD.
Kanye West working on new Jay-Z album Blueprint 3
Kanye West and Dion "No I.D." Wilson working on new tracks for Jay-Z's "Blueprint
3" album. West and Jay-Z debuted one of their collaborations, titled "Jockin'
Jay-Z," last week during West's tour in New York. No I.D. started his career in
the early 1990s and is best known for his work with Common. He has also worked
with Jermaine Dupri's label, So So Def, as co-producer. |
