New Courtney Love album
set for July
Courtney Love has denied reports that her new album was scrapped. According to
Love some changes are made, but that the recordings with Linda Perry and
Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan will remain. The album will be titled “Nobody's
Daughter” and is planned for a July release at the latest.

Sonic Youth greatest hits available through Starbucks
and online
Sonic Youth has finalized the track list for their greatest hits album "Hits Are
For Squares," which is due June 10 through Starbucks stores, as well as online.
An additional track, titled "Slow Revolution," will feature on the
limited-edition CD for which the track list was complied by Radiohead, Chloe
Sevigny, Dave Eggers, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Beck, Flea, David Cross and
others.
Brian Wilson set to release new album
Brian Wilson will release his first album in four years in September. The album
is titled “'That Lucky Old Sun” and is a concept album about the artist’s
childhood in south California. The set features 11 tracks and is his first new
album since 2004's “Gettin' In Over My Head.”
New Happy Mondays album in the works
The Happy Mondays are recording a new album, which should be out early next year.
The band had a few tracks left over from their last album and decided to do
another one.
The as-yet untitled effort will be the band’s 6th album in the band's 20-year
history and the 2nd since they reformed in 2007. , following a 15-year absence
from recording.
1970 Diana Ross album available on CD for the first
time
Diana Ross' 1970 album "Everything Is Everything" will be released on CD for the
first time on June 17. The album’s track spawned the European hitsingle "I'm
Still Waiting" and Diana Ross' cover of Aretha Franklin's "I Love You (Call
Me)." Besides the album's original 11 tracks, the new edition of the album also
includes previously unreleased covers of the Beatles' "Something" and "What Are
You Doing the Rest Of Your Life?" as well as alternate versions of "Ain't No Sad
Song" and "Baby It's Love" and remixes of "Come Together" and "I'm Still Waiting."
Jennifer Hudson debut album set for September
Academy Award-winning actress/singer Jennifer Hudson is planning to release her
debut album in September. First single "Spotlight" will be out June 9.
"Spotlight" was written by Ne-Yo, who co-produced along with Stargate. Other
contributions were made by Timbaland, Robin Thicke and Diane Warren, among
others. Jennifer Hudson won the 2007 Academy Award for her role in "Dreamgirls." |
