Beach Boys reunion in
the works
The Beach Boys may reunite for their 50th anniversary, according to band member
Al Jardine. Most probable lineup would consist of Jardine along with Brian
Wilson, Mike Love, Bruce Johnston and possibly David Marks, who played guitar
with the band from 1962-1963. According to Jardine The Beach Boys are definitely
doing at least one show.
New Heart album Red Velvet Car set for August 31
release date
Heart’s upcoming new album "Red Velvet Car" was produced by Ben Mink. Singer Ann
Wilson, previously teamed with Ben Mink (known for his work with k.d. lang and
Barenaked Ladies) for her 2007 solo album, "Hope & Glory." Mink not only
produced the 10-track album but also co-wrote with the Wilson sisters and played
a variety of instruments during recording sessions. "Red Velvet Car" will be
released on August 31 and is Heart's first new studio album since 2004. The
album will be accompanied by a DVD that Heart filmed on March 5 in at the
Experience Music Project in Seattle.
Klaxons struggled finishing new album Surfing The Void
The Klaxons have said that before they completed their new album “Surfing The
Void,” they questioned whether they would be able to make a second album at all.
The band spent over three years making the new album. The band even scrapped
some of their studio sessions on the way when band members started wondering
whether they might not have it in them at all.
Lil' Kim contributes to upcoming new Dr. Dre album
Lil' Kim has revealed that she will feature on Dr. Dre's new “Detox” album. The
singer confirmed that she has worked with the rapper/producer on the follow-up
to Dre’s “2001” (from 1999), which is due out later this year. Earlier, Dr. Dre
released new track “Under Pressure” featuring Jay-Z. “Detox” was orginally due
in 2004.
Taylor Swift names new album
Taylor Swift has named her third album “Speak Now.” One of the world’s biggest
selling music stars has recorded 14 new songs for her new effort, that were all
written totally by Taylor. According to Taylor “Speak Now” has become a “very
personal collection” and that the songs “are open letters, each written with a
specific person in mind, telling them what I meant to tell them in person.”
Taylor Swift co-produced the album with Nathan Chapman. First single “Mine” will
be out August 16 and “Speak Now” is due on October 25. |
