New John Fogerty album
to feature Bruce Springsteen and members of the Eagles
John Fogerty is releasing a new CD titled "The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again."
It is a new collection with recordings of some of Fogerty’s favorite classic
songs and the effort is set for release on September 1. The album was recorded
under the guise of the group of his 1973 solo debut and includes guest
appearances by Bruce Springsteen and the Eagles' Don Henley and Timothy B.
Schmit. The album features covers of songs by the Everly Brothers and John
Denver, as well as Fogerty's own "Change In The Weather."
Weezer finishing work on next album
Weezer have almost completed work on their 7th album. The effort so far is
untitled. Meanwhile there will also be a deluxe edition of “Pinkerton” being
reissued soon, as well as an unknown non-physical release.
David Guetta album One Love to include Kelly Rowland,
Will.i.am, Estelle, Akon and Ne-Yo
French DJ David Guetta is breaking into the pop charts with his successful first
single "When Love Takes Over" still climbing. His new new album "One Love" will
be released on August 25 and features collaborations with Kelly Rowland,
Will.i.am, Estelle, Kid Cudi, Akon and Ne-Yo. Meanwhile, Guetta produced the
Black Eyed Peas' current hit single "I Gotta Feeling"and Kelly Rowland has said
that she is planning on having Guetta produce much of her next solo album.
New Muse album The Resistance finished
Muse have finished recording their next album “The Resistance” in Italy. The
band produced the new effort themselves with Mike Stent engineering the set. The
band will launch the album at the MTV Awards, two days before the official
release of the album and will then be opening a few shows for U2.
They Might Be Giants finish on kids album while
preparing for new rock album
They Might Be Giants is ready to release their new set "Here Comes Science." The
album and animated DVD is due on September 1. According to frontman John
Flansburgh it is again centred around kids. "Here Comes Science" covers a wide
spectrum of scientific topics. In addition to this effort, They Might Be Giants
is also working on another full-fledged rock album for which they are targeting
a spring 2010 release date. The band started recording in March and has already
finished on eight tracks so far.
Bee Gees' 50th anniversary celebrated with new
collections
The Bee Gees' 50th anniversary will be celebrated with two collections on
November 3. "Mythology" is a 4-CD box set produced by surviving Bee Gees Barry
and Robin Gibb that will dedicate one disc each to the three brothers in the
group, including the late Maurice Gibb, and one to their late younger brother
Andy Gibb. The 81 selections represent the Bee Gees’ personal favorites and
Robin and Maurice's discs will each feature solo tracks as well as Bee Gees
songs. On the same day also "The Ultimate Bee Gees: The 50th Anniversary
Collection" will be released, which is a two-CD with 39 tracks that closes with
a live medley of songs the trio wrote for others, including "Islands In The
Stream," "Heartbreaker," "Guilty" and the theme song for "Grease." A deluxe
edition of "The Ultimate Bee Gees" will come with a DVD featuring videos and TV
appearances.
Pearl Jam release new album on September 20
Pearl Jam have released their new single "The Fixer" last week. Meanwhile,
Target will be the exclusive retailer in the US for Pearl Jam's self-released
9th album "Backspacer," which is due on September 20. The upcoming new effort
contains 11 tracks from which three songs recently premiered during Eddie
Vedder's US solo tour. |
