New Mariah Carey album
That Chick set for April
The new studio album by Mariah Carey will be titled "That Chick" and will be out
on April 1. According to Island Def Jam Music Group head L.A Reidthey are
planning to release 6 singles off the album. The album features production from
Jermaine Dupri, will.i.am and Rodney Jerkins and collaborations with T-Pain and
Damian Marley. Musically, the album varies between pop and urban club tracks,
including some ballads.
New Franz Ferdinand album in the works
Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos has spoken about the band's ongoing
recording sessions in a Glasgow studio. A new, as-yet-untitled album is planned
for release this summer. According to Kapranos, the album is the opposite of
punk/pop and leans more towards rock as well as dance. For the album the band is
experimenting with some old Russian synthesizer called a Polyvox, built in the
late '70s.
New Elvis Costello reissue to include bonus live disc
Continuing his reissue series, Elvis Costello will release "This Year's Model"
on March 4, featuring previously unreleased material and a bonus live disc.
Originally released in 1978, the Nick Lowe-produced album will include 11
B-sides and alternate takes of the album's songs and highlights include live
versions of "Neat Neat Neat," demo versions of three songs and an unreleased
studio version of "This Year's Girl." The bonus disc contains Elvis Costello and
The Attractions' Feb. 28, 1978, concert at the Warner Theater in Washington,
D.C.
New Fat Joe gangster rap album titled Elephant In The
Room
According to Fat Joe, his new album “Elephant In The Room” is a gangster rap
album. The new effort is due March 11 and features songs about bodies washing up
in the Bronx River ("Kill All Rats") and what type of retribution to expect if
you cross Fat Joe. Producers on the album include Cool and Dre, Scott Storch, DJ
Premier and Swizz Beatz and guest appearances are done by Plies, J. Holiday,
Pooh Bear, Beatz and DJ Khaled.
New Supergrass album details
Supergrass are back with a new album that is titled “Diamond Hoo Ha”. The new
album is planned for a March release date. The band have been recording with
producer Nick Launay, also known from his work for Midnight Oil, Silverchair and
Nick Cave, and will be out March 24. |
