Gaga album disturbs Amazon servers
Visitors to Amazon's website received a busy signal Monday when they tried to
download the the artist's latest album "Born This Way," which the online
retailer was selling for 99 cents on its release date.The high volume of traffic
caused delays for those customers trying to download the album.
Jeff Bridges to release country album in August
Actor Jeff Bridges is set to release a country album, which will be self-titled,
on August 16. Bridges announced details of his record deal with Blue Note
earlier this year. His album has been produced by T Bone Burnett. Musicians on
the album include guitarist Mark Ribot, bassist Dennis Crouch, pedal steel
guitarist Russ Pahl, keyboardist Keefus Ciancia and drummer Jay Bellerose. It's
set to feature backing vocals from Rosanne Cash and Sam Phillips.
Former new Kid Jordan Knight releases solo album
Jordan Knight, former lead singer of the '80s boy band New Kids on the Block is
releasing a solo album. The effort will be titled "Unfinished" and is out May 31
and is his first in 6 years. On the new album, Jordan Knight returns to
dance-pop and he has previously been working with singer-songwriter Colby
O'Donis on the club smash "Let's Go Higher" and with producer Mike Krompass
(known from his work for Nelly Furtado, Natasha Beddingfield and David
Archuleta) and former collaborator and songwriter Kasia Livingston (knonw for
her work for Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and The Pussycat Dolls).
Beyonce to release fourth album in June
Beyonce's 4th album, “4”, is set for release on June 27. The former Destiny's
Child singer has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide as a solo artist up
to now and released her third album “I Am... Sasha Fierce” in 2008.
New Daryl Hall album set for the fall
Daryl Hall is mixing his new album "Laughing Down Crying," his first new solo
album in 12 years. Hall has been working on the album"for quite a while." It
marks his first release since "Can't Stop Dreaming" from 1999 and the new effort
is due out this fall on Verve Records. Hall worked on the album mostly with
longtime collaborator T-Bone Wolk, who died in February 2010, as well as
guitarist Paul Pesco and keyboardist Greg Bieck. According to Hall the album
also features a few guests but does not want to reveal which yet. Hall and John
Oates will do a run of US summer dates, starting June 8. |
